From around 6 years old, children start to shift into the Rule Oriented Stage of their life, a pivotal and essential part of forming how they understand the world and their place in it. Our job as parents and educators is to learn how to best support them through this stage and provide them with the best opportunities to develop a strong sense of connection with their communities. This stage can also be very challenging to the adults who are part of this process, as they need to provide consistent and reliable boundaries and rule sets.
This talk covers this next step in our developmental journey through a 90 minute presentation by Jen Haynes, BIS Principal and advocate for Educating through a developmental lens.
