“Body Awareness and Emotions” is the first talk in a series hosted by the Brisbane Independent School Leadership Team for Term 1, 2021.
Join us in exploring how Emotional Intelligence (EI) changes and develops alongside how a child understands their role in the collective. This online session involves a presentation of the model as well as some pull out small group sessions to explore how EI has emerged in our own development. This is a useful session for everyone, whether they have a child in their lives or not as it explores some edges of recent research around how emotions are formed and how we make meaning in a collective.
This is an online session so please RSVP with the best email for you to receive the Zoom link. We ask that everyone brings along some headphones to the online session so we can restrict background noise.
Cost: $20 for general public and free for BIS Community Members and Future Families.

“Why do kids say no?” is the second in a series of talks hosted by the Brisbane Independent School Leadership Team for Term 1, 2021.
Deep dive into staged moral development to get an understanding of developmental theory, a core principle in our philosophy. This talk explores children’s ideas of right and wrong through the prism of Kohlberg’s Theory and how it impacts on school design and behaviour management. It is an interesting talk that may challenge how you understand the way children and adults interact as it provides insights into all our behaviours.
Cost: $20 for general public and free for BIS Community Members and Future Families.
